Introduction

Welcome to my portfolio blog.  here you will see the projects that I've worked on in and out side of my animation classes.
I like to draw in pen and erasable colored pencils.  I color with a wacom tablet on photoshop and I use a color changing marker technique.

I studied as an art major at snow college for two years and then transferred to UVU and switched my major to Animation and Gaming.  I'm extremely interested in foreign animation such as french and Japanese.  I'm especially interested in animation with just music.  My late father use to be an artist and would bring home art films and games.  He was particularly interested in 3D animation.  My favorite of the films that he shared with me was the Beyond the Mind's Eye series.  It's amazing to think of the technology we have here at our school.

I'm excited to work with my fellow Juniors on even bigger projects next year.

Animation: Dr Calamari

The Doctor Calamari Project was the first time that I worked in a large group animation.  When I was nearly finished with my segments my flash drive glitched and I lost all my original animation.  However in two weeks I was able to redo the animation and turn it in before the end of the semester.
I was assigned two scenes and helped out with two more after I finished.  The two extra scenes where some of the droplets on the fin and view port of the wale as it jumps out of the water and the rough animation from the purple "Shrimp Cam" scene.

Project: Squareball game concept art

I was approached by Professor Marty Clayton and asked if I would be willing to help out with the character design of the squares in the Junior's Squareball project.  Here are my sketches and final ideas.

Concept: Frankenstein

At the beginning of the fall semester we worked on the idea of a Frankenstein animation.  I first started with ideas based off the original book.  The Victorian ideas came and went and I finally settled on a post apocalyptic adaption that's set in a desert. The doctor would be stuck in the desert, hiding from mobs and sand storms.  The monster would be made from old motorcycle parts and scrap found in the abandoned city.

3D Project: ocean side town

Sketch Book: Fan Art

I have to admit that a lot of the art that I do is fan art from videogames.  I collect games from other countries, most of them games that were only released in japan.  Some of my best drawings are in this section so I feel that it would be a shame if I didn't include it.  I can't pretend that I don't draw anime style.  My style though has become a mix because of it.  What matters is that I'm able to draw in any style and be comfortable with it.
